B&M, known for its wide offering of affordable items ranging from branded groceries and alcohol to homeware, electrical gadgets and toys, has opened in the Mander Centre, Wolverhampton. The 52,000 sq ft B&M, which has created roughly 45 new jobs, is one of several major openings in the Mander Centre this year, with Matalan now open in New Look’s former 23,000 sq ft unit, and Wilko set to open its doors in November. B&M and Wilko fill the former BHS department store, taking the top and bottom floors respectively. This follows the announcement earlier this month that Mike Ashley’s new multi-brand House of Fraser concept, comprising Frasers, FLANNELS, Sports Direct and USC, will take the 94,000 sq ft anchor store when Debenhams depart in early 2020.
